The Lower Platte South Natural Resources District is seeking a qualified professional to serve as Assistant General Manager. This full-time, exempt position assists the General Manager in the day-to-day administration and operations of the District, including staff supervision, program coordination, and support to the Board of Directors and its subcommittees.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Representing the District in daily interactions with the public and other agencies
- Supporting Board and subcommittee activities, including analysis, recommendations, meeting coordination, and documentation
- Coordinating and administering District programs and projects
- Supervising and assisting District staff
- Reviewing plans, studies, and projects and preparing responses or recommendations
- Assisting with budget development and financial administration
- Helping implement Board policies, plans, and programs in accordance with applicable statutes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required; preferred fields include natural resources, engineering, or public administration (advanced degree considered)
- Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience; supervisory experience preferred
- Experience with budgeting and financial management
- Knowledge of natural resources management and related engineering principles
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Residency within the District required
- Valid Nebraska driver’s license with a good driving record
- Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
Compensation:
Negotiable depending on experience.
