Partnerships

Partnerships

Partnerships are essential to the success of the Lower Platte South NRD. By working with local, state, and federal agencies, nonprofit organizations, schools, and community groups, we’re able to stretch resources, share expertise, and deliver lasting conservation, recreation, and education projects across southeastern Nebraska.

Our Partners

Local Governments
We work closely with the City of Lincoln, Lancaster County, and surrounding municipalities to support flood control, stormwater management, and trail development that benefit local communities.

State & Federal Agencies
Collaboration with agencies like the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Department of Water, Energy, & Environment, Nebraska Game & Parks Commission, FEMA, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers provides funding, technical expertise, and regulatory guidance for major projects.

Schools & Universities
Educational partnerships with local schools help us bring conservation into classrooms and support research that improves natural resource management.

Nonprofits & Conservation Groups
Organizations such as The Nature Conservancy, Pheasants Forever, Audubon Nebraska, and watershed groups partner with us on habitat restoration, wildlife protection, and wetland conservation.

Private Landowners
Many of our programs depend on the cooperation of landowners who voluntarily participate in tree planting, cost-share programs, water quality monitoring, and well decommissioning.
