The LPSNRD fiscal year begins on July 1st and ends on June 30th. Finalizing a budget for a fiscal year is a several-month process that begins each April and involves LPSNRD directors, staff and the public.  Watch this page during the budget process for a listing of opportunities for public input, or contact your LPSNRD Board representatives.

The Lower Platte South Natural Resources District Board of Directors is working to develop its Fiscal Year 2022 Budget, and the first draft of the budget is available HERE for public review.  Much will change on both the expenditure and revenue sides of this first draft, before the LPSNRD Board gives the budget final consideration in August.  Public input early in the budget process is most desirable, preferably before the end of June.  Public input is invited throughout the budget process, but public comments should be made as early as possible, to maximize the Board’s ability to respond.

Anyone providing input may also submit comments in writing at these times:

  • Wednesday, June 16, during LPSNRD Board of Directors monthly meeting – The initial budget draft will be reviewed for directors and the public.  Comments will be welcomed, and the Board especially appreciates public input at this early stage in the budget process.  The June 16 meeting begins one hour earlier than normal, at 6:00 PM.  The initial budget draft will be posted at LPSNRD.org in early June, prior to the June 16 Board meeting.
  • Wednesday, July 21, during the LPSNRD Board of Directors monthly meeting – The Board will consider tentative approval of the FY 2022 Budget.
  • Wednesday, August 18 – annual Budget Public Hearing.
  • Thursday, August 26, during LPSNRD Board of Directors monthly meeting – final budget consideration.

Details about each of the above meetings, including instructions for public access, will be posted HERE.
