DRAFT Hazard Mitigation Plan Update

DRAFT Hazard Mitigation Plan Update

December 20, 2019

The Lower Platte South NRD’s Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan Update is nearing completion! The plan is currently in a public review phase, which runs from Friday, December 20, 2019 until Tuesday, January 21, 2020. Participating jurisdictions can review their community profiles on the project website: https://jeo.com/lpsnrdhmp. This is the last opportunity for jurisdictions to review their community profile before the plan is submitted to NEMA and FEMA for final approval. If you have any comments, questions, or revisions, please reach out to the JEO Project Coordinators – Becky Appleford (402-392-9915, rappleford@jeo.com ) and Brooke Welsh (402-474-8741, bwelsh@jeo.com).

LPSNRD leads the updating of a Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan every five years for participating communities/jurisdictions in the district.  This document is designed to reduce or eliminate community vulnerability to natural and man-made hazards.  A community must have a hazard mitigation plan on file with FEMA, in order to be eligible for several FEMA disaster mitigation grants.
