The December 12th meeting of the LPSNRD Board of Directors was the last for two directors who did not seek re-election in November.  Dick Bolte, Subdistrict 7 representative, has been on the board since 2009 and has been vice-chair and secretary of the board.  He has chaired the board’s Land Resources and Information and Education subcommittees.  Bolte told the board his eight years of service, “were both educational and interesting,” and he said his time on the board was well spent.  Subdistrict 7, which he represents, generally includes an area north of “O” Street to Leighton, between 18th and 84th streets.

Ron Svoboda has held nearly every executive office and chaired nearly every subcommittee in his 27 years on the board.  In addressing the board, Svoboda listed several LPSNRD accomplishments of which he is especially proud, including the districts flood control activities, its Well Decommissioning Program, cost-sharing programs to improve cropland and Nebraska’s NRD system in general.  He told the board, “Our system of natural resources districts is envied by states and local governments throughout the nation.”  His Subdistrict 8 includes most of the area south of “O” Street to Pioneers Boulevard, between 33rd and 84th streets.
