Summer Conservation

Purpose: To offer an additional incentive to landowners to do more conservation work during the summer months on cropland (wheat, oats, short season soybeans, alfalfa, etc.).

How to Apply: 1. If you are not approved for cost-share assistance, contact the NRCS office to obtain an application form.
2. Fill out the application form in this brochure and submit it to the Lower Platte South NRD with an aerial photo of the land to be treated.
3. If you have questions, contact the NRD office at (402) 476-2729.

Process: 1. LPSNRD acts on the application and inspects property May 15th and/or September 1st.
2. Landowner completes conservation work.
3. Landowner, contractor and NRCS verifies what was done where and when.
4. LPSNRD makes cost-share payment.
