A concrete boat ramp and parking area are located near the west entrance (no wake boating). Many fish habitat improvements were made in 2006.
Meadowlark offers hunters both waterfowl and upland game. Primitive camping, hiking and nature observation are also available. The recreation area includes virgin prairie and a walnut plantation.
