Cottontail is a 148-acre property including a lake of 29 surface acres. The surrounding lands offer wildlife habitat. It is located one mile north of Martell.
A concrete boat ramp was constructed at the south end of the dam in 2006, the lake was deepened to improve water qualiy and there were some fishery enhancements.
